Lots of love for Steiner Ranch Residences

Steiner Ranch social networking site

Looks like I am not the only one messing around with web social.  A fellow resident in my neighborhood has created a social framework for all residences of Steiner Ranch.  It is called Steiner Social.  One thing about living in Steiner Ranch is that we are extremely social!  From our biannual block parties to workshops, there is always something going on around our home.  This has created an immense pride in our community.  I am not the only one talking about our community, take a look at the dedicated blog for my neighborhood.  It is nice to be part of something that everyone can be proud of.

Steiner Ranch - More than a neighborhood

I hate to be a fanboy but I really like living in Steiner Ranch. Moving from Colorado Springs was eased by moving into such a great community that is next to Lake Travis and bubbling with nature. With the warm welcome of other families from around the nation, it seems that those who moved here did not start from Texas. From neighborhood sports to all the events our HOA hosts, it seems there is no end to what you can do here. I am not the only one that loves this community as another resident has a great blog on all things Steiner Ranch. Take a look.

Bored with Stevie

UPDATE:  The webcams were moved up on the right side to make way for my Pandora list and MyBlogLog list.

So I got bored with the webcam setup for our pet turtle and moved the webcam setup from his tank to show our view from our backyard. The web camera had a hard time resolving the sunlight so I took an old polarize filter from a camcorder we do not use and glued it in front of the cam. It worked well:

The updated snapshots can be found on the right hand side of the site toward the bottom or you can go directly here. Soon I will have every angle covered from my home!

Our clubhouse is gone before it had a chance to be opened

Our golf clubhouse in Steiner Ranch burned down today. It was scheduled to be opened in the Spring of 2008. It is hard to understand how an unfurnished clubhouse could generate six million dollars lost, but I guess it gives you an idea of how lavish it was going to be. Keyla saw the fire but did not take any video however a fellow Steiner Ranch resident did as seen above. This clubhouse is less then a mile from my home. Thankfully the winds pushed the flames away from the homes or this could have been worse. Since this is a private course, I am sure recruiting will be elevated to help recoup some of the loss. The golf course was not affected which is good. I hope to get my kids out there to play next summer.
